This course aims to teach student to make academic research, scan resources and type the collected data in a certain format. How should be prepared an appropriate thesis that is suitable to an academic formation, to teach creating stages of form and content. The main goal of this course is help to gain knowledge to the student.

 

 ANI 105 Photography for Animated Film

 

 

The aim of course is to teach the technical characteristics of the art of photography. By Application provides to understand of the techniques. Teaches the types of Photographic works in animation. In this course contains art of photography, history of photography timeline from camera obscura to digital cameras.Practicing to take right and effective photos. learning frame by frame shooting for stop-motion animation works.

 

ANI 107  Drawing Principles I

 

An introduction to line as a form of visual expression and the drawing skills compatible with self expression and visual storytelling. The aim is to analyse the Line as a tool and developing the drawing skills necessary for the interpretation of a given idea for visual expression purposes. Exercises for developing a certain taste for drawing and a certain drawing style makes up the core of the course.

ANI 106 Colour Theory

This course’s aim is to criticise the fundamentals and principles of usage and effects of colour. Also, with this knowledge, developing the personal style and modality and obtaining the ability for practice with classic and digital methods will be building the purpose of the course.

 

 ANI 108  Drawing Principles II

 ANI 201  Fundamentals of the Art of Animation

 

The fundamental principles of animation are introduced. A thorough understanding of the key elements such as Timing, Scene Planning, Weight, Energy and Deformation (Stretch and Squash) is the objective of the course. Exercise modules which cover and help establish The Fundamental Aspects of the Profession and the Art of Animation Filmmaking make up the content of the Course.

 

ANI 203  Character Design

 

With this course students are introduced to the art of Character Design not only for Animation but to other forms of Visual Storytelling as well. The notion of the Animatable character and its role in enhancing the visual style of the animated film is analyzed.

 

ANI 205  Cinematography for Animated Film

 

This course aims to make students notice the fact that animated movie is a kind of cinematic production, so they can gain cinematic knowledge, recognize camera and its components easily, use efficiently, create still images with cinematographic techniques, record and watch, develop personal expression styles.

 

 

ANI 207  Digital Modeling and Animation Design I

 

This course aims to have the students gain abilities on a 3D modeling software and make them able to transfer their designs into a 3D space. Within the course, 3D modeling rules that is required for computer-based animation will be taught, different techniques will be examined, and with modeling trainings, students will gain the required skills to express themselves in a 3D space. Thus, the students will be ready for 3D animation production. Plus, the course also covers stylized character design and set design for cartoon and animation production.

 

ANI 202 Character Animation

 

 

This course is aimed at immersing the students into the practice of the animated motion. The courses are structured to get the students to analyze the basic concepts of Character Animation and the principles of creating convincing Character Animation examples. 

Exercise modules, which cover the basic character actions such as the Walk Cycle and other actions which give life to the character are introduced and carried out by the students.

 

ANI 204 Art and Theory of the Storyboard

 

 

This course aims at developing and further improving Storyboarding skills. Students learn how to visually represent the ideas written in the script and how to apply the film language to the storyboards and how to pace the scenes so as to maintain the cinematic continuity of the film. The means of visual storytelling by using storyboards and their applications to animation and/or cinematic productions are thoroughly examined.

 

 

 

 

 ANI 206  llustration for Animated Film

 

 

This course aims to gain students illustration making skills for animation. The students, who produce illustrations with different techniques for animation, will take production skills one step further.

 

ANI 208  Digital Modelling and Animation Design II

 

his course aims to make student produce 3D models and production. Thus, students will have all the required background to make 3D animation.

 

ANI 301  Art of Computer Animation

 

This course aims to make students be able to create animation in a 3D space, providing competence on one of 3D modeling and animation software. Students will have the whole necessary knowledge on 3D modeling and animation software which is one of the most important computer-based animation, and highly required for cartoon and animation production. Students gain new notions, techniques and skills for animation production and bring a new perspective on their works transfering them into digital space. The course also aims to inform the students about basic film production issues like lighting, color correcting, camera, frame and editing.

 

ANI 303  Art of Experimental Animation

 

This course aims to make students be able deal with properly with design issues from a broader perspective and come up with effective solutions at production stage, examining on alternative animation techniques and ideas. It is expected for students to go beyond the ordinary with new techniques and notions. It is going to be provided that students will have more creative, functional and aesthetics point of view at design and production stage.

 

ANI 305  Film Analysis and Animated Film I

 

The understanding of the element of Feature Length Film in achieving certain ambitions and aspirations. The content of the course is to analyze the feature length film with student in details by criticising in terms of technical and artistic way under different genders

 

ANI 307  Story Development and Script Writing for Animation

 

The purpose of this course is to enable students to convert an idea into a story and after than to convert a story into a script writing which is suitable for TV production and also to gain students sufficiency for script writing format and techniques.

 

ANI 309   Illustration Exhibition Design

 

The aim of the course is to make research according to predefined concepts, produce illustration works within this concepts and gain an experience to demonstrate and finalize with an exhibition.

 

ANI 302  Art of Stop Motion Animation

:

 

The course is aimed at introducing the art and theory of stop-motion animation technique as means of visual storytelling and animation filmmaking.

Through viewing films and analyzing examples of animations created by the stop-motion animation technique students will comprehend the basic idea and the requirements for capturing the necessary pose leading to the creation of motion. 

 

ANI 304 Visual Effects Animation

 

The main objective of the course is to provide a thorough understanding of the principles of creating convincing Visual Effects Animations.

Exercise modules for creating visual effects with and for animation makes up the contents of the courses. Water, wind, fire and other forms of visual effects components will be put into practice.

 

ANI 306  Film Analysis and Animated Film II

This course is an introduction to the use and utilization of audio in filmmaking. Definition of the sound, basic sound physics, comprehending the sound, audition concept and the history of sound recording are discussed thoroughly. Students learn how to record sounds on different media and learn to utilize and/or adapt the recorded material to their productions.

 

ANI 310 Animated Film Exhibition Design

 

 

The purpose of this course is to gain students the knowledge and experiences earned through the education and training that aims to introduce developing identity of an artist, to be able to evaluate student works which is worth to be demonstrated and gathering around a theme and to gain students presentation design experience

 

ANI 401 Animation Filmmaking

 

The course objective is to complete the production of an Animation Filmmaking Project within the framework of a Production Plan. This course is designed in an executive plan which consist of producing a personal Cartoons - Animation project, starting to build an idea step by step in flimmaking process to complete an animation film production.

 

ANI 403 Portfolio Design

 

The objective of the course is the preparation of a Portfolio which will be the best representative of the student's artistic talent and qualifications. Within this course students will be required to complete a detailed research for the possible career destinations and consequently prepare an Application Package (Portfolio, Demo Reel and Necessary Documents.

 

ANI 402 Graduation Project

 

The aim of the course is to guide the students in taking their first step in the production of a professionally crafted and exhibited work in collaboration with the Project Supervisor.

The course content is the experience of completing a desired task where the student will be able to demonstrate that he or she has gained the qualifications to create at a certain level or has developed a certain style to pursue a career of choice.

 

ANI 404 Demo Reel Design

 

This course’s aim is making an exhaustive research for possible career goals of the students who will be graduate and attempt their first step to professional life. As a result of this research, it is expecting from each student to prepare a presentation design and a Demo Reel record which will be the best definition of their artistic qualification for any kind of job application or offer.

ANI 211 Magazines and Publishing

 

At the student as a first priority to its home in the media, the environment, is to develop an overview of country and the world. Referring to the society celebrates the process of comminication and miscomminication, about life in life is to prepare the correct detection. A critical perspective, and provide research skills to find the truth of the course objectives. At the end of the term by creating a magazine design and content within life and thus accomplish at the student, the idea-application stage in between the other goals of the lesson intended.

 

 

ANI 214 Digital Image Processing

 

This course aims to teach students to make compositing with still images and footages. The students, who will learn how to combine various elements like illustration, still image, video and audio, will be able to make productions especially for advertising.

 

ANI 216 Firsts in Turkish Cinema

 

The course aims at the student, " Firsts in Turkish Cinema " under the title of periods of Turkish Cinema, actors and directors, within the framework of world cinema to introduce various examples and readings. As well as theoretical narratives, case studies, monitoring, and by practicing, students will receive an active part in the course. Will be captured in the documentary film, students learn the methods of research, aimed to improve their visual thinking skills.

 

ANI 313 Women in Turkish Cinema

 

Contained in the Turkish Cinema actresses lives, movies, film analysis, hands-on processing is carried out in their performance. Each of the chosen portrait of a woman, made into a short documentary film script, so that it"s also a quality screenplay writing technique that improves the ability to think and visual gain.

 

ANI 314 Art of Animation Activities and Istanbul

 

 

This course will equip students to recognize their city, to make contact with the arts, his thoughts and feelings to produce it for the art to be a where-where, in short, the students " awareness " aims to render. As a result of these activities, students are expected not only as a spectator, for its effectiveness in an interactive format, the artist point of view on behalf of the acquisition is to provide a good experience.

 

ANI 315 Art of Graphic Novel

 

This course aims at developing a thorough understanding of the Art of the Graphic Novel and how to effectively utilize this art form as means of Visual Storytelling.

Students will be free to choose to either practice the art of or to conduct a research on Graphic Novels on a topic of interest of their own.

 

ANI 316  Puppet Design

 

 

This course aims to teach students to “how to make puppet and why it is used in theatre, cinema and frequently animation studious… Puppet is an inanimate object or representational figure wthat is animated or manipulated by an entertainer, who is called a puppeteer. It is used in puppetry, a play or a presentation that is a very ancient form of theatre. There are many different varieties of puppets, and they are made of a wide range of materials, depending on their form and intended use. They can be extremely complex or very simple in their construction. The course aims to provide basic knowledge about puppet design.

 

 

 

ANI 413  Academic Research in Animation Studies

 

The objective of the course is to develop proficiencies in carrying out an Academic Research and submitting a Research Paper covering a desired topic within the Art, Theory and Practice of Animation Filmmaking.

 

ANI 414  New Media and Animation

 

This course aims understanding the new communication channels for the last user along with the development of technology, researching the working principles of the interface designs via these channels, following the developments of the brands by analyzing the competitors, teaching the concepts such as social media communication, mobile communication.
